Meet Dwayne
a construction professional who has spent decades on the frontlines of commercial & residential building projects.
Over the years, Dwayne witnessed a recurring problem: homeowners, many with little or no construction knowledge, struggling to confidently manage their refurbishment and extension projects. Misunderstandings, overspending, and stress were far too common.
The tipping point came when Dwayne personally saw friends and family fall into the same traps, often blindsided by confusing quotes or unexpected variations. That experience became the catalyst for CheckMyBuild.
The Problem
Most homeowners enter building works without the tools or expertise to challenge or validate a contractor’s quotation.
Quantity Surveyors (QS) are often out of budget for small-scale projects, leaving clients to rely solely on trust.
